Ok, so what had happened was… It’s been over a month in the new house. I’m not feeling new any more, not really at work, and not in the half routine at work. It’s getting boring… like boring enough for me to try to start finding things to do.
Last weekend my mission was to get some more furniture, to try to reduce the number of things I have sitting on the floor in my house. I’m starting to wonder how many tables one person needs to make a house look normal. Coffee table, end tables, bed side table, kitchen table, desk… how many flat surfaces can on person really use? At least now the house is starting to have a feeling of permanence; to be honest it had been feeling like a strange hotel room for a while.
My new goal is to start to find things to get me out of the house after work. I’m joining a gym this week, so we’ll see how that goes. I really want to find a place to sit with a book/laptop and coffee/beer that isn’t Starbucks. To be honest, I’m surprised that I actually miss Octane in Atlanta. You can never get a table, and I hardly ever went, but if I could find a place like that in Stamford that had free beer tastings, I’d be so down. Any ideas on new things that get you out of your apartment/house/dorm/box/Sadam-style-spider-hole? Leave a comment!
Also, George Clinton is coming to town tomorrow. I never really thought of Connecticut as funky.
PS… One of the big reasons posts have been so sparse is that it has been taking me a while to come up with things to write about. So, if you have something in particular you want to hear about, be sure to leave a comment.
